Transactions were printed annually as a means of dissemination information about the work of the Society. They include descriptions of inventions and correspondence in support of claims for awards. Manuscript versions include original correspondence and some drawings, plans and diagrams. Manuscript Transactions are at PR.GE/118. By the 1840s Transactions were published every two years to save money and the format and content of the publication changed
