And likewise an Instrument for the killing of Crocodiles or any Beast destructive to Man consisting of 74 darts daggers and lances which when the Monster comes upon it cuts it all to pieces in the Belly and works upon a very quick Movement, which Instrument I beg leave to lay before your Lordships for your inspection and approbation.’\n\nOn reading this letter and examining a model of the machine the Society’s Committee of Mechanics recommended that no further consideration should be given to this invention as it did not come within the interests of the Society.\n
