The Committee, chaired by Prue Leith, consisted of a small number of people with expertise in public arts strategy, fund-raising, communications and education. They were to direct the strategy to achieve the project's aims. The first meeting was held on 27 November 1995.\n\nCommittee membership consisted of: Prue Leith (Chair), Sandra Chalmers RSA, Jo Darke Public Monuments and Sculpture Association, Penny Egan RSA, Margaret Hyde RSA, James Lingwood ArtAngel Trust, and Sydney Sporle Westminster Council.
