Ita Buttrose was awarded the fifth Harnett Medal (1992) for her professional achievements in publishing, journalism, radio and TV broadcasting as well as for her extensive community service record, particularly in the field of medical education and health care.\n\nThe presentation was made by Colin Parker, Deputy Chairman of the New South Wales Chapter in Sydney in 1993.\n\nSir Ian Turbott, Chancellor of the University of Wester Syndey appears in one of the photographs; Professor Peter Johnson, Chancellor of the University of Technology and Roy McWillaim, Chairman of the New South wales Chapter in another.
