The Society was bequeathed two cottages in the Oxfordshire village of Drayton St Leonards under the terms of the will of James Cranstoun. This was in response to the Society's 'Preservation of Ancient Cottages' campaign of 1926. The Society sold the properties on the death of the sitting tenant in 1995
