The Cadman Bequest was a fund to administer four annual Memorial Lectures on coal or coal products to commemorate John (Lord) Cadman.\nHenry Morley bequeathed the Society £8173 in 1948 for lectures 'on useful subjects'; funds were transferred to the Society on the death of his daughter, Mrs Van Dulken. The Society was also asked to maintain his grave in Norwood Cemetery jointly with the Worshipful Company of Merchant Taylors. Miss Dorothy Wilmot Corfield (daughter of William Wilmot Corfield) left the residue of her estate to the Society in 1952.\n
