This is a photograph of a drawing of the Elevation of the society's house drawn at the office of Robert Adam. It is believed that this is the drawing that the Society requested to be produced so that it could be engraved as a frontispiece for Transactions Vol 8 (1790) (see preface to Vol 8).\n\nThe drawing (as at July 2007 located in Strongroom C) was presented to the Society in 1994 by Richard Martineau, Chairman of Council 1993-95.\n\nFrom notes on the back of the photograph it is believed that the drawing was auctioned at Chrisite's in 1994 so it is assumed Mr Martineau purchased it and gave it to the Society at that time.\n\nNote on back of photograph: Stock No:107\nRL:3\nM/S:7\nLot 13\n\nLabel showing: 31 May 94 Christie's V94518\n\nPost-it note was also attached with following details:\nAndrew Clayton-Payne, Christie's, Head of Dept Watercolours 071 389 2253\n
