Awarded to Professor S F C Milsom, of the University of London for his work 'Historical Foundations of the Common Law'. The cup was designed and executed by Michael Driver. It is 6in. high and 3in. in diameter, the interior of the bowl is silver gilt.

Awarded to P S Atiyah, Professor of English Law in the University of Oxford, for his work 'Promises, Morals and Law'. Designed and made by Thomas Dobbie, it is made of silver, with gilt and enamel stem, the enamel sections being individually fitted to a central core attached to the bowl.

Awarded to Professor Ronald Myles Dworkin, Quain Professor of Jurisprudence, University College London, for his book 'Euthanasia and Physician-Assisted Suicide'. Cup designed by Alex Brogden
