Barry writes to ask Members of the Society for a them to name 15 people associated with the Society that they would like included in the painting.
The Society had asked him for information on where to find likenesses of certain individuals
Thomas Philips was comissioned to produce a set of engravings of the Great Room paintings
This letter, in part, is reprinted in the 1801 Transactions. This relates to letter AD.MA/700/10/2/9. Includes a copy of a letter sent to the Earl of Liverpool (officer of the Society) Jul 03 1801 regarding additions to the paintings - naval pillar in The Triumph of the Thames.
The letter addresses: the Triumph of the Thames and the inclusion of the Naval Pillar; and moving the two portraits of the Society's first two Presidents and his subsequent problems with this
Taylor also asks Barry to bring a book on the Treatise of Colours which he lent him.
Barry indicates that he would prefer Mr Heath. The note was relayed to the Society by Valentine Green
An additional note on the bottom reads: 'Received 28th April 1809 of Dr Taylor the above.' The initial date of the note is 9 March 1806
