This lists the minutes from 1777-1778 that are relevant to the painting of the Great Room. Possibly requested by Barry so he could write his account of the paintings.
Regarding the Great Room decoration
Thomas Philips was comissioned to produce a set of engravings of the Great Room paintings
This is likely to have been produced by the Society for James Barry, as requested in a letter to the Society. See AD.MA/700/10/1/30
Regarding: moving the 2 portraits of the Presidents; re-varnishing the paintings; and prints/engravings produced. The note attached to the first page is a continuation of additions to the Elysium engravings.
Barry had requested that the portaits of the Society's first two presidents, Folkestone and Romney, be moved. He had encountered opposition to this from the President and Vice-Presidents.
Also mentions the notes attached to the front of AD.MA/700/10/2/4. The note is titled 'page 27'.
The note is titled '19'. Regarding the introduction of the Naval Pillar in the Triumph of the Thames; the suggestions for the improvement of medals and coins in the Distribution of the Premiums; a note '(a)'about the controversy Barry saw around his not having submitted his ideas about the coinage Privy Council when they called for improvements.
Barry had chosen a Mr Heath instead. Draft letter appears to be in Charles Taylor's hand.
