Locky Morris worked with architect Michael Hegarty on the creation of a series of public spaces within the redevelopment of the Gasyard Centre, a multifunctional neighbourhood facility in the Bogside are of Derry, Northern Ireland. Both artist and architect live in the city and share an interest in ideas of belonging and shared history. With experience in navigating a highly complex landscape, literally and metaphorically, they worked closely with community activists in developing an overall visual identity for the centre along with designs for a reception area, community café, circulation routes and a history centre.The project was completed in 2004.
