Henry Cole, Chairman of the Society's Council, whose achievements include significant work towards the Great Exhibition of 1851 and (under a pseudonym) designing a tea service for one of the Society's competitions. This photograph is by the renowned photographer Julia Margaret Cameron, of whose career Cole was a supporter. Cole served as Chairman of Royal Society of Arts Council between 1850 and 1852.
