Diego Ferrari collaborated with architect Tony Fretton on the design of this unique space within the heart of rural Dorest. Holton Lee is a retreat, providing a contemplative and inspiring setting for the arts, disabilities and the environment. Ferrari introduced photographic representations of the natural environment and wildlife on the ceilings of the entrance and porch, inspired by the 350 acres of land surrounding the site. The project was completed in 2001. Client: Holton Lee Trust. Award value £6,000.

Sean Branagan collaborated with Peter Meacock architects on the design of a new community/village hall in Farrington Gurney in Avon. The design team considered the scale and form of the building within its surroundings and its internal structural and spatial relationships, holding public meetings with local residents to discuss views and share ideas. The project was completed in 1995, slightly altered from the initial design proposals. Client: Farrington Gurney New Hall Project Development Committee. Award value £5,000.

The Arts Council Lottery provided £7,500 to cover the costs of a Feasibility study. The findings of the study led to a radical rethink of the project. Instead of having the various arts organisations of Public Arts Development Trust, ArtAngel, Public Monuments and Statues Association and The Royal Society of British Sculptors each responsibile for a different year, they were to be invited to join a single committee responsible for commissioning three contemporary works of art, from very different sculptors, to follow each other on to and off the plinth. The educational and ancillary projects were to remaIn a strong part of the scheme. The RSA were to undertake the project management and fundraising.\n\nAn administration file comprising of correspondence and working papers relating to the organisation of the feasibility study and its funding. It includes the Outline brief for the Feasibility Study and a copy of the Final Report, June 1997.

Administrative correspondence detailing arrangements about the lecture given by H.M. Bateman on 'Humour in Art' (Wednesday 9th February)and the subsequent exhibition of Humorous Art held at the RSA. The majority of correspondence on this file is from 1949. It includes a speech given by Harry Lindsay at the opening of the proceedings on 11 July 1949, a draft speech by Her Royal Highness the Princess Elizabeth and insurance documents.

Fish Quay, 1991/92

Jyl Friggens and Graham Robertson worked with architect Max Brewer to incorporate architectural features including ceramic ridge tiles and a decorative balustrade for the Fish Quay design centre. A row of dilapidated buildings was refurbished to create the centre which is now a venue for local artists and craftspeople. Art and architecture have combined to reawaken a sense of place, inspiring interest and creating opportunities for the community, the arts and other business development. Client: Fish Quay Design Centre. Award value £2,320.
