Hannah Collins worked with the architect Jonathan McDowell of McDowell & Benedetti to devise visual and environmental aspects this new nursing home in Lewisham. Collins' intervention was multi-dimensional and integral to the fabric of the building, reflecting the lives of those who live and work in the home. The project was completed in 1999. Client: The Merchant Taylors' Company. Award value £10,000.

Stephen Skrynka worked with Borough Transport Engineer Tom Mansfield, on the design and build of a cycle route through Lots Road in Chelsea. The route will form part of the Thames Cycle Route being developed by Sustrans. Skrynka promoted a creative dialogue between the design team, the surrounding communities and users of the route. The project was completed in 2001. Client: Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Award value £5,000.

Michael Brennand-Wood was appointed to the design team working on the new Braintree Tabor County High School and Braintree Leisure Centre, Essex. The architect for the project was Ian Fraser from Essex County Council. Brennan-Wood designed decorative flooring and textiles for a foyer and identified a number of other areas within the buildings where the work of artists and craftspeople might be incorporated. This led to the commissioning of a variety of artworks and an artist residency at the school. Client: Essex County Council. Award value £15,000 (sole grant made in the pilot year 1989/90).\n\n

Christopher Tipping worked with East Yorkshire Borough Council's Architects Department on designs for Bridlington North Shore Promenade in Beaconsfield. This improvement programme includes the detail and design of surface finishes, relating the wallscape forms to the floorscape. The designs take into account the environmental, historical and cultural context of Bridlington and the bay and the patterns of use of this public space. Client: East Yorkshire Borough Council. Award value £6,000.
