This is subsequent to his letter dated 25/10/1801, but reproduces substantial parts of it. Elements of this thus also appear in the 1801 Transactions.

The Committee had commissioned Taylor to write an abridged account of Barry's Paintings, which Taylor found difficult due to the volumes of notes given by Barry and the degree of detail in the paintings.
